Chunghwa Telecom to Build Telecom Network in Thu Thiem Brian Park, Vietnam

Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom has been granted exclusive rights to build a ubiquitous telecommunications network in an intelligent software technology park - called Thu Thiem Brian Park - in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, by investing in the park's developer TA Associates International, Taiwan's Commercial Times reported. According to the report, Chunghwa Telecom has invested NT$200.0 million (US$6.4 million; US$1=NT$31.1) in the developer, thereby acquiring 7% stake and a seat on the company's board of directors. Major shareholders of TA Associates International comprise several Taiwanese enterprises, including Teco Group, Shining Building Business, and the Industrial Bank of Taiwan.
